Some Hearts Tops Day 3 At Harrisburg

Session three of the Standardbred Horse Sale in Harrisburg wrapped up the yearling portion with Some Hearts fetching the highest price of the day.

Consigned by Spring Haven Farm, the son of Western Terror – Heart Ofthe Matter was purchased by Richard Norman of Allentown, New Jersey, acting as agent, for $120,000. Some Hearts is a full brother to 2008 two-year-old Western Heart (1:55.1 - $43,669).

Yancey Hanover was purchased for $110,000 by the Lindy Racing Stable of Enfield, Connecticut. The son of Cantab Hall - Yankee Topaz, who was consigned by Hanover Shoe Farms, Inc., is a full brother to Yursa Hanover (2:01.3 - $181,830).

Muscle Massive topped the entire three-day yearling sale with a price tag of $425,000. Jimmy Takter of East Windsor, New Jersey purchased the son of Muscles Yankee – Graceful Touch during the first session from the Peninsula Farm Inc. consignment.

Prices were down significantly from the 2007 version of The Black Book. With 1,098 yearlings selling for $32.73 million, the average yearling price was $29,864, down from totals of $42.78 million overall and a yearling average of $40,824 a year ago.

The mixed sessions will commence tomorrow and continue until Saturday.
