Shadow Play Back To Illinois

With a choice between two races this weekend, 2008 Little Brown Jug winner Shadow Play is heading back to Illinois and will supplement to the $275,000 American-National Stakes at Balmoral Park.

On the heels of a hard-fought second place finish to Somebeachsomewhere in Saturday's Messenger final at Yonkers, Shadow Play will aim for the sweep of Illinois' major stakes events for three-year-old-pacers. Three weeks ago, Shadow Play and driver David Miller captured the $275,000 Windy City Pace at Maywood Park.

"Shadow Play came out of Saturday's race in great shape," trainer and co-owner Dr. Ian Moore told Trot Insider. "He's had a few days off in the paddock and we've decided on going to Illinois."

Shadow Play's connections could have paid the $28,000 supplemental fee to enter Saturday's final of the American National or $25,000 to compete in Sunday's $35,000 eliminations for the $350,000 Progress Pace at Dover Downs. Entries for both events close today.
