The Windsor faithful were infatuated with the streaking Docs Moonlite on Tuesday evening, and the filly didn’t disappoint her army of backers.
In fact, the daughter of Cams Eclipse drew away to win by more than three lengths while racking up her seventh consecutive victory for trainer Zaim Cunmulaj.
Kevin Hough, who celebrated four wins on the Tuesday evening program, sat third to the quarter pole with Docs Moonlite before making a first-over bid for the lead in the second quarter. She took charge at the mid-way point and simply drew away from the competition in a time of 1:56.3.
The filly kicked home in :29.3 to seal the deal over runner-up No Request and Doowrah Silver, who finished third.
E C S Racing LLC of Rockford, MI holds the papers on the career winner of $19,008. After going winless in nine tries as a rookie, the pacer has redeemed herself in 2008 thanks to an 8-3-4 record from 18 starts.
Docs Moonlite returned $3 for every $2 wager on her nose – a stark contrast to the $210.50 kickback for every $2 win wager on Treasure Council who stepped to a 1:58.1 score in her seventh race assignment.
