A set of $20,000 Invitationals - one for trotters and one for pacers – are going to be added to the card for Ohio Super Night at Scioto Downs on Saturday, September 6.
"This will be a great chance for some of the best horses in the Midwest to race on Ohio 's greatest night of racing," says Stacy Cahill, general manager/racing operations for Scioto Downs. "It would be a great opportunity for horses that can't get starts at other tracks or horses en route to Lexington for Grand Circuit racing."
Ohio Super Night will feature eight championship Ohio Sires Stakes events, each contested for a purse of $80,000.
"We should have a great crowd that night and having the invitational trot and pace is just icing on the cake for a night that already showcases the best of Ohio ," adds Cahill.
Through August, the average total bet at Scioto is up 92.3 percent for the 2008 meet, which closes on Sept. 13.
