Driver Bruce Richardson opened and closed the Friday evening card at Western Fair Raceway with victories, and he tacked on four more trips to victory lane just for good measure.
In total it turned out to be a six-win performance for the sulky sitter, who is quickly closing in on the $2 million mark in seasonal earnings. It would mark the first time the green and gold-clad reinsman has accomplished that feat.
Richardson took the opener with Candy Cruiser (2:02.3), and returned to earn a share of the winner’s circle Race 4 after guiding Greek Island (2:01.1) to a dead-heat decision.
Live For Today (1:59.1) completed the hat trick for Richardson when he took the checkered flag in Race 7, and a natural hat trick in Races 9 thru 11 with Makrill (2:04), Natashas San (2:03.1) and Pac Man (2:04.3) gave him the Friday evening six-pack.
Richardon has put together 1,835 lifetime wins while banking close to $11 million in earnings.
