Driver Brad Rae took his game to a whole new level on Tuesday at Kawartha Downs thanks to a five-win performance over Fraserville's five-eighths mile oval.
The resident of Woodville, Ontario took the opener in wire-to-wire fashion with the Artsplace filly Alika, who tripped the teletimer in 1:58.2.
He returned to victory lane just two races later thanks to a front-stepping upset with Ingotta Getaway. The gelding, who was sent off at 13-1, was much the best in a time of 1:59.4.
Rae notched a natural hat trick in Races 6 thru 8 thanks to wins with Mighty Moss (1:59), Luckyinkentucky (1:57.1) and Mr Pozefsky (1:58.4), thus completing the five-win performance.
This year marks the first season Rae has topped the $700,000 in purse earnings, and he is on the verge of surpassing the 100-win mark for the third time in his career.
