Quebec Connections Buy Harrisburg Yearlings

Published: November 6, 2008 12:08 pm EST

Even though there is much work to be done to get the standardbred racing industry in Quebec back on sure footing, connections based out of the province were very active during the yearling sessions at the Standard Horse Sale in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Taking advantage of the reduced prices that the yearlings were selling for, Quebec interests purchased 33 yearlings for a total gross price of $891,500. The average price that the Quebec interests paid for the yearlings was $27,015.

The number of purchases that the Quebec interests made, and the overall amount that they spent, was the highest since at least 2004.
