Mr Garjangles and Priceless Edition have done their fair share of winning this season, and they bolstered their records by capturing their respective Preferred assignments at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Thursday evening.

Mr Garjangles doubled up in the $13,400 Preferred Trot for the team of trainer Richard Vanderwal and driver John MacDonald. The eight-year-old son of Mr Lavec capitalized on a ground-saving journey to freeze the clock in 1:57.4.

It was the 22nd lifetime score for the veteran, who prevailed by a head over race favourite Gusty Volo. Pacesetter SOS Starmania rounded out the top three in the nine-horse affair.

Mitchell Vanderwal of Mallorytown, Ontario owns the career winner of $275,281.

Priceless Edition took a three-race win streak into the $13,400 Preferred Pace, and he had no problem extending the streak to four for trainer Mark Steacy and driver Gord Brown.

Brown brushed the four-year-old son of Real Desire to the lead shortly past the mid-way point, and from there he drew away to win by just over two lengths in a time of 1:54.2.

Imjustalittleguy rallied to finish in the runner-up spot behind the 1-9 favourite and Red Leaf Again came on late to grab the show dough.

It was the 21st lifetime win for the pacer, who has manufactured a 10-3-3 record in 25 starts this season. He has stashed away $303,417 to date for owner/breeder Peter Heffering of Port Perry, Ontario.
