Batalj Launcher trotted and Infinite Justice paced to the winner's circle at Flamboro Downs on Sunday evening after winning their respective Preferred tilts at Canada's fastest half-mile oval.
It was sweet sixteen for Batalj Launcher, who romped to a 1:57 victory in the $16,800 Preferred Trot. The nine-year-old son of Tap In rolled the field through panels of :27.4, :57.1 and 1:26.3 before coasting home in :30.2 for his 16th win of the season.
Anthony Haughan guided the Meg Crone trainee, who was sent off as the even-money choice, to the victory. Indiana Hall was second best and third prize went to Trudel.
The gelding, who is owned by Meadowbranch Stables Inc. of Lynden, ON and Ivan Swindle of Co Fermanaugh, IRL, now boasts career earnings of $115,201.
Infinite Justice was a popular winner in the $12,600 Preferred Pace for driver Robert Shepherd, who engineered the off-the-pace score with the seven-year-old son of Real Desire.
The gelding, who hangs his harness bag in the barn of trainer Mike Watson, stopped the clock in 1:56. Button Up tagged along to finish second and Forrest Rhythm rounded out the top three.
Maria Kallen of West Bloomfield and Albert Rizzo of Novi, Michigan share ownership on the pacer, who won for the 36th time in his career. He has banked $207,936 to date.
