A double shot of Preferred action was served up at Flamboro Downs on Sunday night, with weekly bragging rights going to Just Plug It In and Brawn Seelster in their respective events.
Just Plug It In was a coast-to-coast winner in a time of 1:53.2 the $12,600 Preferred Pace for the team of trainer Duane Marfisi and driver J. R. Plante.
The four-year-old son of Artsplace whacked out panels of :27, :56.3 and 1:25.1 before scooting home in :28.1 to seal the deal. The odd-on favourite easily turned aside runner-up With Anticipation and Forrest Rhythm en route to his fourth win of the campaign.
The career winner of $149,718 is owned by Alan Alber, Aaron Waxman and the PSHL Stable.
Brawn Seelster used off-the-pace tactics to prevail in the $14,700 Preferred Trot for trainer/driver Callie Rankin, who co-owns the half-mile specialist with partner Jeff Goreski.
The six-year-old son of Berndt Hanover, who is now an eight-time winner in 2008 survived a first-over trip to pull off the 7-1 upset over odds-on favourite Batalj Launcher, who was second, and Will He.
The trotter has banked close to $100,000 this season, and his career bankroll now stands at $309,263.
