Gusty Volo and Imjustalittleguy staked claim to weekly bragging rights in the co-featured Preferred events for trotters and pacers on Thursday evening during Rideau Carleton Raceway's 15-race program.

It was a second helping of the winner's circle for Gutsy Volo, who was a 1:56.4 winner in tonight's $13,400 Preferred Trot. The four-year-old son of Yankee Glide stopped the clock in 1:56.3 in last week's winning effort.

In rein to trainer/driver Robbie Robinson, the gelding front-stepped the field through fractions of :28.3, :57.3 and 1:26.4 before sealing the deal with a :30-second final quarter. Norway No Day was second and Rate Exchange rounded out the top three.

Brian Cassell, Jacqueline Dinelle and Sean Hibbert share ownership on the 14-time winner, who has stashed away $71,130 in lifetime earnings.

Imjustalittleguy used off-the-pace tactics en route to earning a new speed badge of 1:53.1 in the $13,400 Preferred Trot for trainer/driver Ted McDonald. It was the 21st lifetime victory for the six-year-old son of Armbro Operativ.

The gelding fended off runner-up Match Bayama to win by three-quarters of a length. Kublai Pan rounded out the top three in the nine-horse affair.

Lloyd Stone of Portland, ON holds the papers on the career winner of $146,679, who has put together an impressive 10-2-1 record in 19 starts this season.
