Fans turning out at Northlands Park tomorrow will be treated to a special card labeled ‘Standardbreds Forever – a day that will feature a number of promotions in addition to a special appearance by a guest horse.
Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame stallion As Promised will be on hand to meet the Northlands Park fans, who will also be able to participate in a handicapping contest and witness a stellar card of racing.
"This event has something for everyone,” said Orianna Scheck, the event’s organizer. “It's going to be a great day for the fans, bettors and horsemen. Northlands has made a huge effort in making this possible.”
"We’re very excited to have As Promised at the track for the day,” she added. “Everyone will have an opportunity to meet, pet and have a photo taken with the local Standardbred legend. The handicapping challenge will solely be on the live race card which will see the winners receive a total prize of $10,000. In addition, we will have each race sponsored with a blanket presented to the connections of the winning horses."
To top off the day, fans will see their champion As Promised reunited with his driver and trainer Keith Clark. The two will once again pair up and lead post parade for the last race of the card which will be the As Promised feature.

I just have to comment on the day at Northlands it was a GREAT DAY!!!! Cold but good.
He looks better than he ever did. Keith did a great job with the fans an Promise. It's to bad that Northlands couldn't have promoted it alittle better than what they did.
