Muscle Massive Tops Harrisburg Opener

The opening day of the six-day Standardbred Horse Sale has concluded with the brother to Muscle Mass - Muscle Massive - topping the opening day of the auction with his price tag of $425,000.

Jimmy Takter of East Windsor, NJ signed the ticket on the son of Muscles Yankee – Graceful Touch, who was consigned by Perretti Farms. Muscle Massive is the full brother to Muscle Mass (1:53.4 - $229,000).

John Carver shelled out $350,000 to purchase Ganache, a son of Credit Winner – Maple Frosting. The colt, who was consigned by Peninsula Farm Inc., is the full brother to Chocolatier (1:53 - $1,328,250).

Steve Jones of Montgomery, NY picked up Catechism Hanover, a filly by Rocknroll Hanover out of Cathedra, for $260,000. Hanover Shoe Farms Inc. consigned the sister to the millionaire performers Cathedra Dot Com (1:51 - $1,632,543) and Cabrini Hanover (1:51 - $1,473,729).

Yankee Nourrir, a son of Andover Hall, was sold to Ole Bach of East Windsor, NJ for $235,000. Peninsula Farm Inc. consigned the trotter, who is the first foal of the multiple stakes-winning mare Windylane Hanover (1:53 - $1,250,675).

More yearlings will sell on Tuesday and Wednesday before the three days of mixed sessions follow on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
