More Press for 'Somebeach' and MacGrath

Ron Waples has apparently compared him to Niatross and John Campbell has said he hasn't seen a horse like this in a long, long time. The praises kept racking up for Metro Pace winner Somebeachsomewhere and the press for the Mach Three colt continues to be at a feverish pace.

Sovereign Award-winning Toronto Star columnist Dave Perkins has been the most recent to spread the news about the World Record holder, whose connections officially announced yesterday that the undefeated colt will be shut down for the rest of the year before resurfacing for his sophomore campaign.

While Somebeachsomewhere has been getting the royal treatment, Perkins also sheds light on trainer and co-owner Brent MacGrath, part of the Schooner Stables of Truro, NS. MacGrath broke and trained the multiple stakes-winning colt before sending him to compete in Ontario in the barn of conditioner Jean Louis Arsenault.

"I don't want to be the one to make comparisons," MacGrath told Perkins about Somebeachsomewhere. "But I know he's awfully fast, has great manners and is, knock on wood, extremely healthy. He's never had even a touch of sickness. How good can he be? He'll tell us that. He'll have plenty of chances."
