A seven-dash card of qualifiers went forward this morning at Mohawk Racetrack over a 'good' surface rated one second slow.

On the pacing side of things, the Gary Kingshott-trained Transcending recorded the fastest time of the morning, producing a wire-to-wire victory in 1:56.2 for pilot Jody Jamieson. The four-year-old son of Grinfromeartoear recorded the head victory over eight-year-old Artiscape millionaire Escape The Wind, who paced in second the entire way for trainer-driver Roger Mayotte.

Two-year-old Western Terror filly Dance With Me Dee also put a '56' mile in this morning during Race 5. With Paul MacDonell at the helm, the brown filly grabbed the lead in the second quarter and opened up lengths. The Tony O'Sullivan-trained filly eventually crossed the wire over nine lengths the best, pacing in 1:56.4.

Four-year-old Balanced Image gelding Inukshuk produced the fastest trotting time of the morning, as the Geoff Maltby student went the wire-to-wire route, triumphing by over three lengths in 1:59.1.
