Miami Fair hosted a series of stakes events on Saturday afternoon and horsemen Don Anness and Darryl Mason dominated the nine-race card.
In the $11,709 Silk Lace Final, Don Anness picked up one of his three training wins on the card with the three-year-old filly Cute N Sassy.
With Mason at the reins, the daughter of Pants With Me posted panels of :30.1, 1:02.2 and 1:34.1 en route to a one and a half length victory in 2:06.2. Western Enforcer (Roland Rey) and Finest N Fastest (Dean Rey) were second and third.
Cute N Sassy picked up her third win in 12 starts this year for Anness who co-owns with Sheila Anness of Emo, Ont.
In the $12,728 Golden Boy Final, Mason guided There Goes Andy to victory by a nose in 2:05.1. The Goalie Jeff gelding took the lead past the :30.2 opening quarter mark and posted fractions of 1:00.1 and 1:31.1. In the stretch, he held on for the win as Power Of The West (Roland Rey) closed for second. Fiesty I Am (George Isman) was third.
There Goes Andy is trained and co-owned by Robert Ross and Arlene Ross of Virden, MB. He has notched six wins in 12 starts this year for his connections.
Miami Fair also hosted the Juvenile stakes for freshmen pacers and a pair of Firm Friend youngsters trained and co-owned by Anness used front-end tactics to prevail.
In the $2,780 Juvenile for two-year-old filly pacers, Bubbles Promise (Roland Rey) prevailed in 2:06.2. The chestnut filly sports record of four wins and two seconds in six starts.
In the $1,740 Juvenile for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings, Gingerbred Walker picked up his third win in four starts in a clocking of 2:07.2 with Mason at the reins. The bay gelding is co-owned by Anness and Mason.
In the $3,550 MHHI Claiming Series Final, Mason closed the card with his fifth win in the bike with Margies Daughter. Trained by Sherri Mason, the eight-year-old Pilgrims Punch mare made a three-wide move at the third quarter mark to sprint home in 2:06 for her seventh win this year.
