She's sharp. She's sound. And now the connections of six-year-old Blissfull Hall mare Marnie Hall p,4,1:49 ($1,234,585) have announced that she is retired.
Marnie Hall raced four times in the month of October, all of the starts coming at the WEG circuit in the Fillies and Mares Open class. The millionaire won three of those four starts with her only defeat coming on October 4 where she came up just a neck short.
During her tilt on October 17, Marnie Hall came first up and notched a gritty, neck victory in 1:50.1. She followed that effort up by doing much of the roadwork through solid fractions October 24, where she went on to stop the timer in 1:50.1.
The connections have told Trot Insider that Marnie Hall will head down to Nandi Farms in Pennsylvania and that they are considering breeding her to one of two stallions at this time.
From 82 career starts, Marnie Hall compiled a record of 21 wins, 16 second-place finishes and eight thirds. She took her mark of 1:49 at four when she captured the $195,000 Golden Girls Stakes at the Meadowlands Racetrack.
Marnie Hall retires as the richest of Blissfull Hall's progeny.
In her career, Marnie Hall captured the $84,150 Bombardier, $154,740 James Lynch Memorial, $250,000 Classic Series Mare Pace and the $75,000 Strada Memorial.
Marnie Hall is owned by Daniel Plouffe and Jean Dessureault. Mark Harder, Mark Silva and Daniel Martin trained Marnie Hall for the majority of her starts.
