On Thursday, November 13 at Sulky Quebec, veteran horseman Gabriel Boily, 59, recorded his 5,000th career driving win.
Pairing up with Shipps Speed gelding Sir William Star in Race 6, Boily went straight to the front with his mount and recorded all the fractions. After battling with Nevada Dream in the final panel, Boily and Sir William Star pulled away and recorded an open-length victory for the milestone mile.
From 27,089 career pari-mutuel drives, Boily, in addition to his 5,000 wins, has recorded 3,870 second-place finishes and 3,507 thirds.
Boily, a resident of Quebec City, QC, is equally polished in the training department. Since 1992, Boily's stable has sent out 1,619 winners and produced winners of over $3.6 million in purses.
