Great Canadian Gaming Corp. has announced the arrival of Mike Mackey, racing consultant for Great Canadian Gaming Corporation to Fraser Downs.
Mackey will be assisting Fraser Downs, in the absence of Terry Warner, as manager, Backstretch Operations, on an interim basis as the track moves forward into its 2008/09 live racing season.
Mackey brings to Fraser Downs over 37 years experience in the horse racing industry, and has worked in managerial positions in Tampa Bay, Miami, Cleveland, Denver and most recently in Vancouver at Hastings Racecourse. From building and managing Great Lakes Downs in Western Michigan to president of Intertrack for the State of Illinois, Mackey has extensive knowledge of thoroughbred and standardbred racing.
Great Canadian Gaming Corp. has also announced that, on an interim basis, Joe Hollingsworth has been appointed as assistant manager, Backstretch Operations and will be assisting Mike Mackey during this transitional period. In his new position, Hollingsworth will be reporting directly to Mike Mackey, manager, Backstretch Operations.
