The Mildred Williams International Driving Series received some more mainstream attention today, as the Truro Daily News has run a story on pilot Tammy MacKay, who will be competing at Chester Downs tomorrow.
"It'll be one of the highlights of my driving career," said MacKay, 36, who has been steering harness horses for 17 years.
Having qualified, Tammy MacKay will be participating in the five-race finals, which will be contested at Chester, Freehold Raceway and Dover Downs.
The Truro Daily News article notes that roughly $90,000 has been raised this year by the 32 tracks that have participated in the Mildred Williams Series, which continues to gain momentum.
"It's nice to know that it's going to help someone in need," MacKay said.
