Lulu De Revenue, a 25-1 longshot, benefited from a two-hole trip to win the $75,000 Harold Dancer Memorial Filly Trot this afternoon at Freehold Raceway.
The Harold Dancer Memorial Filly Trot for two-year-old daughters of New Jersey-based stallions is sponsored by the Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association of New Jersey.
Lulu De Revenue, a daughter of Revenue S, trotted the mile in 1:59.3, three-fifths of a second off the stakes record.
It was the filly's first victory in five starts.
David Miller was at the lines of the Ray Remmen trainee who paid $58.20, $11.40, $14.40. It was a half-length back to Allamerican Phoebe, who overcame an early miscue and rallied for second. She paid $4.20, $2.60. Fast Vacation finished third by a length and a half and returned $3.00.
Lulu De Revenue, sporting trotting hobbles, earned $37,500 toward a total of $38,668 for owner-breeder Charles W. Hartzell of Greenville, Ohio.
This was the first Harold Dancer Filly Trot winner for Hartzell and Remmen and the second for Miller, who drove Purple Haze to victory in 2006.
