Luchento Honoured At Freehold

Tom Luchento, president of the Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association of New Jersey was presented with a resolution in his honour by State Assemblyman Ronald S. Dancer and U.S. Congressman Chris Smith earlier this afternoon Freehold Raceway.

The joint legislative resolution commends Luchento for his "meritorious record of service, leadership and commitment" and for lending "his wisdom and expertise to harness racing since 1962."

Smith, who is from Hamilton, NJ, has represented the Fourth Congressional District of New Jersey, which encompasses 39 municipalities and includes parts of Burlington, Mercer, Monmouth and Ocean Counties since 1981.

Dancer of Plumsted, NJ, is a former harness racing driver/trainer and the son of the late Hall-of-Famer Stanley Dancer. The dinner was a fundraiser for Dancer's re-election committee.

Dancer introduced the resolution along with Assemblyman Joseph R. Malone III of Bordentown, who attended the dinner, and State Senators Robert W. Singer of Bordentown and Jennifer Beck of Red Bank.

Also co-sponsoring were two other assembly members, Caroline Casagrande of Freehold and Declan O'Scanlon Jr. of Red Bank. Dancer, Malone and Singer represent District 30 while Beck, Casagrande and O'Scanlon represent District 12.
