Charles Leerhsen, author of Crazy Good: The True Story of Dan Patch, The Most Famous Horse in America, will sign copies of the book this Saturday at the Red Mile in Lexington, Kentucky.

Leerhsen, executive editor of Sports Illustrated, will sign between noon and 2 p.m. First race post time is 12:30 p.m.

The 335-page book retails for $29.99, but is offered at a price of $18.89 from Amazon.

The book, which has been very positively reviewed in USA Today, Newsweek, Entertainment Weekly and others, recounts the career of Dan Patch, who raced about 100 years ago.

The Red Mile was the site of eight starts for Dan Patch and the opening chapter of the book recounts a record attempt there.

Proceeds will benefit the Stable of Memories/Round barn, a Lexington icon that was standing when Dan Patch raced at the Red Mile.

The only other racetrack signing scheduled for Leerhsen after the Red Mile will take place on October 11 at Scarborough Downs, outside Portland, Maine.
