Lear Jetta stayed unbeaten in 2008 with a W.N. Reynolds Memorial Stakes win on Monday afternoon at Pocono Downs.
The Robert Myers trainee overcame an outside post to beat eight other three-year-old trotting colts and geldings in 1:55:1 on a track listed "good".
Driven to victory by Tim Tetrick, Lear Jetta won for the sixth time in as many starts this year and for the 16th time in 18 lifetime races. The win pushed his career earnings over $469,000.
In Focus, another three-year trotter who came into Monday's Reynolds action unbeaten in 2008, broke stride early on in his division and ended up finishing sixth.
Taking advantage of the situation was Star Ledger, who trotted home a winner in 1:55:2 with Steve Smith in the bike for trainer Karen Garland.
Overall there were three Reynolds divisions held on Monday at Pocono for three-year-old colts and geldings on the trot, with purses ranging from $27,035 to $27,436. There were also seven $20,000 divisions held for two-year-old fillies on the pace.
The day's fastest winning time among the Reynolds freshman fillies was turned in by TSM Opal Star T, who won in 1:53:4 for trainer Jan Fread and driver Tony Hall.
