Freshmen fillies will line up this Friday at Northlands Park for three Emerald Lady Stakes divisions, which will feature purses of over $19,500.
Coming off a 1:57.4 victory in her Junior Miss division on October 23, Onaway has been installed as the 2-1 morning line favourite in the first division (Race 6). The With Held filly, who will start from Post 6, is trained and driven by Kelly Hoerdt.
In the second division (Race 8), Incredible Beauty and Sealedwithapromise will form the even-money entry for horseman Keith Clark. Incredible Beauty and Clark will start from Post 6 while Sealedwithapromise, also a Miss Junior divisional winner in 1:58.3, will start from Post 7 picking up the services of Bobby Clark.
In the final division (Race 9), trainer Robin Chase will send Arielle Pass postward as the 2-1 favourite in the morning line. Gerry Hudon will drive the Freedoms Pass filly who won her division of the Counterfeit Crown Sales Stake in 2:00.2 on October 11.
Two-year-old colts and geldings will also get a chance to strut their stuff at the Edmonton oval in a trio of Presidents Pace divisions worth over $36,000 apiece.
Starting from Post 6, Clark’s Rotten Randy is the early favourite in the first division (Race 2). The son of Marlow Hanover is coming off a second-place finish on in his Primary Pace division on October 22.
With trainer Gerry Hudon at the reins, Pilgrims Pass will attempt to break his maiden in the second division leaving from Post 3.
Swiftys First Star and driver John Chappell will have to overcome Post 8 in his assignment (Race 5) for trainer Robert Sabourin, Jr.
