Hogies Cam, the winningest horse in North America this season, turned in his 21st win of the campaign thanks to a 1:59.4 score for driver Jordan Stratton earlier today at Monticello Raceway.
The 10-year-old son of Camluck, who earlier this year established a new Monticello Raceway record of ten consecutive victories, needs only one more to erase the mark for most wins in a season at the Mighty M - a record set by Golden Storm GB during the 1986 season.
When asked for a comment after Hogies Cam's victory, trainer Bob Beauregard chirped "I ain't sayin' nothing; the last time I did (bragged) Hogies Cam went on a six-week drought."
Beauregard conditions the veteran for owner Charles Strukel. Despite being a claimer, Hogies Cam has been named "Horse of the Year" at Monticello Raceway by the local scribes.
Strukel and Beauregard will receive that award at the Monticello-Goshen Chapter USHWA Awards Banquet on Sunday, October 26.
