Sodys Moonshine was the fastest winner of four divisions of the Florida Sunshine State Stakes for two and three-year-old pacing colts and geldings Saturday at Pompano Park.

Able to leave from post six in the seventh race $7,593 division for three-year-old pacing colts and geldings, driver Wally Hennessey sent Sodys Moonshine right to the lead and the duo never looked back, winning by three open lengths in 1:54.1.

It was the third win this year for Sodys Moonshine, who is sired by Tough Sir, trained by Kim Sears. He was bred and is owned by Donald Soderstrom of Deland, Florida.

The fifth race first division saw Alligator Alley and driver Wally Hennessey wire the field by one length over McFlash (Dan Clements) and McRyan Michael (Jay Sears). After soft early fractions, Alligator Alley kicked in a :26.4 final quarter mile in the victory.

Trained by Mike Deters, it was the second win this year for the gelded son of Raging Glory who is owned by Mark Rorabeck of Nutrioso, Arizona.

Storming Howard (Bruce Ranger) was the fastest of the two divisions for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings as the son of Mannart Howard won in 1:56.2 by one length over Time To Scoot (Dan Clements) and Im Fine (Wally Hennessey).

It was the third straight win for Storming Howard, who is trained by Michile Lorenzo and is owned by Ron Lorenzo, Ciro Gentile, William Hancock, Jr. and the Pomtambo Stables of Boca Raton, Florida.

In the first division, Tough Cassidy lived up to his name for driver Wally Hennessey, going wire-to-wire by two and three-quarter lengths in a lifetime mark of 1:57.1. Tough Chip (Dan Clements) was second with Valentines Gator (Tom Lehmann) third.
