Last night at Batavia Downs, current Yonkers and Freehold Raceway regular pilot Jeff Gregory, 42, became $10,000 richer, as he was crowned the winner of the All-Star drivers' challenge.

Gregory's 39 points, which he had accumulated on October 22, held up, as he defeated seven other top reinsman from New York and Canada to take home the winner-takes-all prize. The competition began on September 10 and ran for eight consecutive weeks.

Jody Jamieson finished second in the drivers competition with 35 points, while Howard Parker was third with 34.

The Purple Haze stable, the Western New York Harness Horsemen's Association and Batavia Downs Gaming sponsored the All-Star drivers' challenge.

The challenge also doubled as a fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester. Between sponsorship of races, donation of All-Star drivers' commission and a silent auction over $15,000 was raised.
