Gerry Van Bussel Passes

Gerardus (Gerry) Van Bussel, one of the founders of Seelster Farms, passed away the morning of July 1 at his home in Ilderton, Ontario.

The 77-year-old native of Holland, who emigrated with his family to Canada in the mid-1950s, had been in ill health for some time.

One of 12 children, Gerry along with his late brother Chris, Jimmy and sister Tina (Van Boxmeer) launched Seelster Farms which has for four decades been one of Canada's leading standardbred nurseries.

Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan, ON on Wednesday 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and Thursday 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.

The Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Parish, 777 Valetta Street, London, ON on Friday, July 4 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Clare Coleman celebrant. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery, Lucan.

Donations to the Canadian Liver Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
