Freshmen Pacing Fillies Flock To Sudbury

The OSS took its show on the road to Sudbury Downs on Wednesday as two-year-old pacing fillies battled in four $20,000 Grassroots events.

Rossridge Emotion captured the first division for driver Paul MacLean and trainer Carl Jamieson. The Camotion – Whippet filly was second at the :28.3 quarter, but inherited the lead when Noshameinmygame (Brad Forward) made a break.

From there, Rossridge Emotion paced through fractions of 1:00.2 and 1:31.1 en route to a length score in 2:01.2. Parallel Park (Brad Rae) was second while third went to Betting Terror (Gerry Belanger).

Ross Ridge Stables, Douglas Good, Ken Houston, and Bonnie Rattray paid $19,500 for the filly as a yearling and they have seen her collect two wins in five starts along with $36,134 in purses.

Zegerid Lady posted the largest margin of victory in the second split for driver Alfie Carroll. A daughter of Modern Art – Regal Chalice, she watched from midpack in the field of eight as Grin A Peg (Paul MacLean) set a half in :28.4 and :59.1.

Zegerid Lady followed the move of Southern Seelster (Brad Forward), who became the leader in 1:28.4, before exploding off cover to an eight-length romp in 1:59. Musfasas Place (Dave Dowling) was second, but placed back to fifth for causing interference while on a break. Southern Seelster and Twin B Nouveau (Aaron Byron) were moved up to second and third, respectively.

Larry Fitzsimmons trains Zergerid Lady, who broke her maiden for owner/breeder Lynn Browne. In six starts, the filly has earnings of $14,160.

Tomorrowpan turned in a furious three-wide move in the third quarter and never looked back in the third tilt. Driver Brad Forward settled the No Pan Intended – Disneypan lass into fourth and they sat through a half of :28.3 and :59.3.

Forward had the Bob McIntosh trainee going three-high from fifth at the 1:30.3 three quarters and she brushed to a two-length cushion at the top of the lane. Winning by three lengths in the end, she tripped the teletimer in 1:59.2, pacing her final quarter in :28.1. Kesons Dahlia (Gerry Belanger) finished second and Twilight Katie (Brent Belore) got third.

The Peter Pan Stables Inc. bred and owns Tomorrowpan, who is two-for-three in Grassroots action. The filly is three-for-six lifetime, banking $23,540.

Inside Dish broke her maiden on the front-end in the final division. With Travis Bowman driving for trainer Paul Taylor, she stole pedestrian panels of :30, 1:02.2 and 1:33.3 before sprinting home in :29.1 to win in 2:02.4 by a length .

Rumpleluckstein (Gerry Belanger) got the place spot while the show went to Red On A Nose (Alfie Carroll).

Glenview Livestock Ltd. owns the Grinfromeartoear – Like Butter filly, who is 1-1-0 in four starts. A $13,000 yearling purchase, she has earnings of $13,532.
