The Meadowlands hosted New Jersey Sires Stakes action on Wednesday night for two-year-old fillies, featuring three divisions for trotters and two splits for pacers.

I Wanted Wings flew home in the stretch to take the first $27,700 division for the trotters. The Muscles Yankee – Veronica Lake filly was positioned in fourth by driver John Campbell until he tipped her off the cover of favourite Stunning Delight (Dave Miller) in the lane. I Wanted Wings used a :28.4 final kick to win by a neck in 1:59.

Stunning Delight settled for second after racing first-over and Graceful Sister (Ron Pierce), who set the tempo, stayed for third.

Ross Croghan conditions I Wanted Wings, who was making her career debut and is owned by Let It Ride Stables Inc. and Robert Cooper Stables LLC.

The $27,200 second split saw Margarita Momma convert from a pocket trip for trainer/driver Jan Johnson. The Yankee Glide – Sheena Hall filly drafted behind RS Giggles (Charlie Norris) before moving out in the final turn and opening up in the lane, scoring by three and three-quarter lengths in 1:58.2.

Favourite Rapsong (John Campbell) came on to get second and RS Giggles rounded out the top three.

Johnson co-owns the filly with partner Jorgen Jahre Jr. Margarita Momma, who was a $50,000 yearling purchase, was making her second lifetime start after making a break and finishing fifth in her debut.

The final division went to Celebrity Athena and driver Brian Sears. The daughter of Yankee Glide – Show Me Leg made a strong brush from fourth in the second quarter and slipped into the two-hole before unleashing another big move in the lane to prevail by three-quarters of a length in 1:59 – trotting her final quarter in :27.3.

Gabbys Dream (Ron Pierce) was the pacesetter and finished in the place spot. Gabbys Gambol (Trond Smedshammer) was third.

Celebrity Athena hangs her harness bag in the stable of Staffan Lind. Owned by Celebrity Farms, she was a $70,000 yearling purchase.

There were two $46,000 tilts for the pacers.

Cammys Heart was victorious in the first split for driver Tim Tetrick. The Cams Card Shark – Hattie filly flushed out cover from fifth around the final turn and despite suffering interference past the three-quarters, she got up in time to win by a nose in 1:55.1.

Favourite Jkmusicofthenite (Yannick Gingras) was unable to hold off Cammys Heart and settled for second. Lily Langtree (Dave Miller) used a strong rally to just miss by a half-length while finishing third.

Mark Silva trains Cammys Heart and co-owns her with Munificent Mole Stable LL. The $80,000 yearling purchase is 1-0-1 in three lifetime attempts, earning $30,086.

Twist N Clout improved to two-for-two lifetime by taking the final split for driver John Campbell. The Western Ideal – Economic Clout filly moved third-to-first before the half and never looked back, winning by two and a half lengths in 1:54.

Fancy Pants Sandy (Dave Miller) was next best in the field and Red High Heels (Ron Pierce) completed the top three.
