Flibbertigibbet converted from a perfect pocket trip for driver Brad Forward to win the $15,000 Preferred Pace at Woodstock Raceway this afternoon.
As Ja El Cash Advance (Alex Lilley) took the early lead, the five-year-old Albert Albert mare sat patiently in the pocket through panels of :28.2 and :58.3. Forward made his move as the field approached the third quarter pole in 1:27.3, sprinting home in :28.1 to win by a length and three quarters in 1:56.
Stonebridge Celest (Alfred Carroll) finished second and the pacesetter faded to third.
The Bill Robinson pupil sports a resume including 18 wins and $192,108 in lifetime earnings. Flibbertigibbet is owned by Gerrie Tucker of Montreal, Que.
