Flanagan Beauty Still Flawless

Flanagan Beauty extended her undefeated streak to six on Sunday afternoon thanks to her 1:58.3 score at the Hippodrome de Montreal in the lone $35,000 Elite division for two-year-old pacing fillies.

With Gilles Dion at the controls of the Pierre Touchette pupil, Flanagan Beauty rallied from off the pace to win by more than two lengths for owner Michel Flanagan of Repentigny, QC. M G Gamma was second and Magnificentobseshn finished third.

It was a career-best clocking for the daughter of Electric Stena, who now boasts lifetime earnings of $38,750.

In the other split for the pacing fillies, M G Gamine swept past all five of her rivals en route to a 1:58.1 upset victory for Michel Baril, who also holds the papers on the daughter of House Of Fun. It was a maiden-breaking score for the Richard Moreau pupil, who was sent off at odds of 39-1.

Two-year-old filly trot

Quelene Bayama is now undefeated in her first three starts thanks to a career-best clocking of 2:00.1 for trainer Yves Filion and driver Sylvain Filion. The Fill V miss went wire-to-wire to push her lifetime earnings to $28,750 for Les Ecuries JYJ Inc. of Quebec.

Lily De Lys took the other $35,000 contest in a time of 2:01 for the duo of trainer Helene Filion and driver Mario Charron. The daughter of Victorys Force, who drew off to win by more than a six-length margin, has won two of her first seven starts. She is owned by Les Ecuries Fleur de Lys of Quebec.

Two-year-old colt & gelding trot

Speculation rallied from second over to take home top prize in his $35,000 division for trainer/driver Marcel Barrieau. The son of Pistols N Spurs posted a 1:59.3 clocking to break his maiden for Quebec partners Conrad Leber and Jean Charron.

Rocket Tino also celebrated his first-ever win thanks to an impressive off-the-pace score in a time of 2:00.1 for trainer Pierre Lacharite and driver Jacques Hebert. The son of Monte Hall is owned in partnership by Ecuries Pierre Lacharite Inc. and Jean Martin of Quebec.

The matinee program also featured a number of Distinction divisions for three-year-old pacers and trotters.

Bob J L (1:54.1), En Katimini (1:55) and Hitouch Emotion (1:55.1) captured their respective $20,000 divisions for three-year-old pacing colts & geldings.

Rockin To Do (1:59.4) and Dauphin Mongil (1:59.2) took their respective $22,000 Distinction tilts for the three-year-old trotting colts & geldings.
