Filly And Driver Alright After Mohawk Spill

Published: July 3, 2008 03:55 pm EDT

Driver Mario Baillargeon and three-year-old pacing filly Canaco Reveille came away relatively unscathed in a one-horse spill in Thursday's second race at Mohawk Racetrack.

The daughter of Chief Marty, who was making her debut for trainer Ben Baillargeon, was tentative for most of the mile and eventually made a break around the final turn when challenging in the first-over position.

The filly stumbled and fell, and in doing so she unseated driver Mario Baillargeon. Baillargeon bounced up quickly and went on to finish up the remainder of his driving assignments. Canaco Reveille, who was inspected by the ORC Veterinarian, simply scraped up her knees in the fall.
