It wasn't a very good day for the favourites in the Preferred events at Western Fair Raceway on Monday. In fact, they went a combined 0-for-4.

Brawn Seelster took advantage of a second-over trip to take home weekly bragging rights in the $18,400 Preferred Trot. The six-year-old gelded son of Berndt Hanover, who is co-owned, trained and was driven to victory by Callie Rankin, notched his ninth win of the campaign by defeating pacesetter Locofoco N and Stonebridge Diablo.

Jeff Goreski of Richmond Hill, Ontario shares ownership on the 29-time winner, who bumped his lifetime earnings to $319,807 with the win.

Pacific Oak also capitalized on a second-over trip to win the $16,100 Preferred Pace for trainer/driver Ken Oliver. The five-year-old son of Pacific Rocket stopped the clock in 1:55.1 to defeat Multiple Choice and pacesetter XLB Patrick.

Shirley and Kerry House hold the papers on the gelding, who won for the 16th time in his career while lifting his lifetime earnings to $137,249.

Luck Of Michelle sat a ground-saving trip for most of the mile before springing loose late and posting a 1:56.2 victory in the $15,200 Fillies & Mares for the duo of trainer John Pentland and driver Trevor Henry. The four-year-old Camluck miss knocked off pacesetter Lulas Filly and Tricky to score for the 13th time in her career.

The OSS graduate, who races for owners Karen Carroll and Natalie Pentland, celebrated her first win of the season in nine tries while pushing her overall bankroll to $907,709.

Coreys On Crombie summoned up all of his back class to take the $12,800 Preferred 2 Pace in first-over fashion for the father/son team of trainer Gregg McNair and driver Doug McNair. R J Chap was second and Front Nine rounded out the top three.

It was the 42nd lifetime score for the eight-year-old son of Abercrombie, who races for owner Kenneth Sommer of Sheffield, Ohio. The lion's share of the purse bumped the pacer's lifetime earnings to $498,981.
