Jonathan Drury celebrated his first-ever win on the WEG circuit earlier this evening thanks to a brave effort turned in by trotter Eventime.
It didn't look good in the early stages of the mile for the 19-year-old reinsman, who was parked to the mid-way point with the three-year-old son of CR Renegade.
Drury cleared with the trotter and eventually drew off to win by a little over a length in a time of 1:58.1. It was a lifetime best performance for the gelding, who hails from the stable of trainer Barry Drury.
Jonathan, who is in the midst of his first season of catch-driving, has compiled a 5-0-4 record from his first 29 driving assignments.
