Dial Or Nodial drew off to a six and a half-length victory setting a stakes record of 1:53.4 in the $85,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings on Saturday at Freehold Raceway.

Owned and bred by Arlene and Jules Siegel of New Hope, Pennsylvania, the Jim Campbell trainee swept the New Jersey Sire Stakes Finals, adding the Freehold championship to the victory he had in the $175,000 NJSS Final at the Meadowlands on July 10.

The 1:53.4 clocking erased the 1:54.1 stakes record established by Genuwine [Cams Card Shark] in 2007.

Dial Or Nodial, driven by Dave Palone, posted his fifth win in six career starts in the featured fourth race. His only loss was a fourth-place finish in the Battle of Freehold on September 1.

The son of Western Ideal – Smart Dialing has now banked $179,305. He returned $2.60, $2.10. There was no show wagering.

McArdles Star [McArdle] was second and paid $4.80. Dial Or Nodial’s entrymate, Fireintheshark [Cams Card Shark] was seven and a quarter lengths back in third.

Genuwine, whose two-year-old record was eclipsed by Dial Or Nodial, also reached the winner’s circle on Saturday in the eighth race, a NJSS round two division for three-year-old pacing colts and geldings. Genuwine paced his mile in 1:52.1. Meant To Be Me [McArdle] won the first of the two divisions in 1:54.4.
