A quartet of $25,000 Atlantic Breeders Crown finals highlighted a star-studded Sunday afternoon program at the Charlottetown Driving Park, and there's no arguing who the most impressive winner was on the card.

Deep Finesse became one of the fastest rookies to ever win at the CDPEC when he toured the half-miler in 1:56.3 to win the final for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings.

Owned, trained and driven by Phil Pinkney, the son of Western Paradise brushed to command shortly after the quarter pole and never looked back en route to a two-length score over Island Historic and Woodmere Fastball.

The pacer, who has won 11-in-a-row, is now a 12-time winner in just 15 lifetime starts. That's good for an impressive $57,342 bankroll.

R Es Mary notched the second win of her career in the two-year-old pacing filly division. The N Xample miss front-stepped her way to a 1:58.4 victory for trainer/driver Earl Smith, who sent out three winners on the program.

Southview Spirit, who was sent off as the 3-2 favourite, made a ferocious rush to finish second. Larshegoes was a distant third in the eight-filly affair.

The PEI partnership consisting of Peter Smith, Donald Smith, Gerald Morrissey and Larry Chappell owns the rookie, who now boasts a 2-3-2 record in 11 starts. Her bankroll climbed to $24,175.

Shadowcross Arose turned in a career-best clocking of 1:57.2 to win the final in the three-year-old pacing filly division. She won by just over a length for the duo of owner/trainer Charles O'Brien and driver Todd Trites.

The daughter of Harrods, who was sent off as an 11-1 outsider, fended off runner-up Southview Spring and third-place finisher Emily J Down en route to notching her fifth win of the campaign.

After going winless in seven starts as a rookie, the filly assembled a 5-4-3 record in 17 starts in this year's sophomore campaign. She has banked $31,539 to date.

Kaptain N Keiths capped off the card with a personal best clocking of 1:56.3 in the final for the three-year-old pacing colts and geldings. The son of Mantwo marched to the lead shortly after the opening quarter and held on to win by a one-length margin.

Owned, trained and driven by Redmond Doucet, the gelding kicked home in :28.2 to defeat Ride The Lightning and Plea Bargain.

The victory was the fourth of the season for Kaptain N Keiths, who is now a 10-time winner in his $45,395 career.
