Saturday's night of harness racing at Hanover Raceway paid tribute to the trot and the Walker Family, with the featured $15,000 Walker Memorial Invitational Trot headlining the 12-race card.
Half-mile specialist Brawn Seelster (Callie Rankin) earned his victory with a gritty overland trip, collaring pacesetter Railroad Ron (Paul Walker) by a half-length at the wire in 1:57.
Rankin co-owns six-year-old Brawn Seelster (Berndt Hanover - Bambino Rose) with Jeff Goreski of Peterborough, Ont. In 18 starts this year, Brawn Seelster has six wins and over $78,000 in earnings.
