Two of North Americas fastest-rising driving stars, Jordan Stratton and Jason Bartlett, will battle head-to head in every race on the Wednesday, November 19 program at Monticello Raceway.
The event, which has been dubbed the 'Battle of the Rising Stars,' will feature two of the most talented youngsters currently steering standardbred charges.
Though all the details are yet to be worked out, the tentative plan is to have each driver select his own mount in every other race. A point system will be used to determine the winner.
Both Stratton, 21, and Bartlett, 27, are among the top five in races won in North America this year. Bartlett's 545 wins ranks him third on the North American leaderboard, while Stratton's 516 victories are fourth best on the continent.
Stratton is currently the leading driver at Monticello Raceway and Bartlett leads the driving colony at Yonkers Raceway. However, both reinsmen drive frequently at both the 'Mighty M' and the 'Hilltop oval,' and the competition is slated for a Wednesday afternoon at Monticello Raceway when there will be no nighttime racing at Yonkers Raceway.
Bartlett is a native of Maine who earlier this year won the 2,000th race of his driving career. Stratton, who also spent his formative years in the mid-west, is in just his second full season of driving and he already has 840 lifetime wins.
