Imps Finesse dominated the fastest of four $5,000 Atlantic Breeders Crown consolations on Saturday afternoon at Charlottetown Driving Park.

The son of Western Paradise took the three-year-old colts and geldings division in rein to trainer Bernard McCallum. Imps Finesse lead the field through panels of :30, 1:00.2 and 1:30 before sprinting home in :28.4 for the win in 1:58.4.

Western Handover (Kenneth Arsenault) finished three lengths back in second and Showmeasign (Ken Murphy) came on for third.

Imps Finesse's ninth lifetime win lifted his bankroll to $49,740 for owner Morah Kerr of Truro, N.S.

In the sophomore division for fillies, runner-up Beer Drinkin Doll (Ernest Laffin) was handed the win after the pacesetter Tobins Paradise (Todd Trites) caused interference in the stretch. The mile was clocked in 2:01.1.

Tobins Paradise was placed second and Fern Hill Thunder (Angelo Camilli) nabbed the show spot.

The daughter of Town Prophet, who is trained and owned by Blair Laffin of Shubenacadie, N.S., made her ninth trip to the winner's circle.

In the two-year-old colt division, Stars Xample (Brian MacPhee) set the pace through fractions of :28.4, :59 and 1:29.2 before coasting to a new lifetime mark of 1:59 by almost three lengths.

Woodmere Finaldrop (Walter Cheverie) closed well for second and J J Jaguar (Gilles Barrieau) was third.

The Terry Gallant trainee sired by N Xample picked up his fifth lifetime score in 11 starts for owner Catherine MacNeil of Sydney, N.S.

In the freshman filly division, N Xample Deal (Daryl Jelley) made a miscue from the inside post causing interference to most of the field. Woodmere Humdinger, by Western Success, and driver Gilles Barrieau managed to avoid the commotion from Post 2 and pick up the win in a clocking of 2:02.3 – a new lifetime mark.

Elm Grove Dallas (Robert MacInnis) and Tammys Little Star (Jason Hughes) recovered from breaks to finish second and third.

Barrieau trains and co-owns the winner of three races in nine lifetime starts with Elmo Caissie of Cocagne, N.B.
