Former BC owner and breeder Art Matus passed away on Tuesday, November 4. He was 97 at the time of his passing.
Matus was a great supporter of harness racing at Cloverdale Raceway (Fraser Downs) in the 1970s and '80s. He bred and raced standardbreds, which included Nechako Alice, Good Friday Flyer, Gladys Command and Bright Tie.
A funeral service for Matus will be held at the Valley View Chapel on 72 Avenue on Saturday, November 15 commencing at 10:30 a.m. with a reception to follow.
