Armbro Billow Upsets In Windsor Feature

Armbro Billow pulled off an upset to the tune of 18-1 in Sunday's $10,000 Preferred Pace at Windsor Raceway, and he had to work mighty hard for the money.

The seven-year-old son of Rustler Hanover was dealt Post 8, but his outside post didn't pose any type of problem. Driver Marc St. Louis hustled the gelding to the top, and he rolled the Mike Watson trainee through panels of :26.4 and :55.1 before releasing the favourite to the lead.

Enough Hanover, who was sent off as the 4-5 choice, brushed to the top and took the field to the three-quarter pole in 1:23.4. He led by a little more than a length at the head of the lane, but that margin wasn't big enough.

Armbro Billow re-emerged from the pocket and used a :29.3 final frame to nail the favourite right on the money in a time of 1:53.3. Enough Hanover held for runner-up spot and Seymour Doolittle was third.

Streetwise Racing Stable of Plymouth, MI owns the winner of $264,158, who picked up the 34th win of his career.
