Alice Springs, the previously undefeated 2007 Florida Sire Stakes Champion, goes for her seventh straight win Friday in the third race at Pompano Park.
The three-year-old daughter of N Aboriginal has won 18 of her 19 career starts and for the first time faces older horses in open competition.
Alice Springs will start from Post 6 for driver Wally Hennessey and is the 2-1 morning line favourite for trainer Tom Harmer. The Ciara Stable and Michael Polansky own filly, who was undefeated in 11 starts as a rookie.
Her last start was on October 25, Super Night at the Isle Pompano Park, when she captured the $61,988 final of the Florida Breeders Stakes by four lengths in 1:56.4.
In the Friday’s $16,000 feature race, J Lo Hanover shoots for her third straight win for the Kevin Wallis Stable. She takes on top mares Lucy Lucy, Hypnotize, Biggest Big Bertha, Scotts Sweety and newcomer Flip For Love.
