Aldred Given Three-Year Extension

The September edition of the BCSA/BCSBS states that its executive director, David Aldred, will lead the BC standardbred racing and breeding industry for a further three years.

Aldred moved to BC from Australia in 2006 and completed a two-year contract in August. The BCSA and the BCSBS have now negotiated a three-year extension to that agreement, confirming Aldred's position through to 2011.

Aldred, 49, has almost three decades of racetrack executive management experience, working 27 years in the Australian racing industry as a CEO for the majority of that time.

Prior to moving to BC, Aldred was the CEO of the 2006 Inter Dominion, Australia's premier harness racing event and managed Tasmania's racing radio network. He was a thoroughbred racetrack and industry CEO for the 10 years prior to that.
