Sansovina Hanover blistered the back half in :54.4, a wicked two panels that kept her challengers at bay and facilitated an easy victory in Wednesday’s (Sept. 9) feature at The Meadows, a $10,400 fillies and mares conditioned pace.
Jim Pantaleano sent Sansovina Hanover to the point with a quarter-pole move, then threw on the brakes in a :29 second quarter. Once the five-year-old daughter of Somebeachsomewhere and Shacked Up turned on the juice, no one could gain ground, including the pocket-sitting Amelias Courage A, who finished second by a length. Sanna Cruza A completed the ticket in the 1:51.1 mile.
Doug Snyder trains Sansovina Hanover, who now boasts $338,325 in career earnings, for Frank Poerio, Jr.
Dave Palone collected four wins, including a pair for trainer Ron Burke, on the 13-race card.
Live racing at The Meadows resumes Friday (Sept. 11), when the 13-race program features a $16,368.04 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5. First post is 12:45 p.m.
