Springboard sprang to the lead with a quarter-pole move, enjoyed a second-panel breather and went on to a comfortable victory in Thursday’s $22,500 Preferred

Trot at The Meadows.

After Springboard took the point, Mike Wilder was able to give the 6-year-old SJs Photo-Spring Serenade gelding a leisurely second quarter in :30.1. From there, Springboard blazed the back half in :57 and scored in 1:55.4. Chips And Wings, rebounding from a pair of off-the-board efforts, was a rallying second, a length back, with Big Star Chuck third.

Miles Wollam trains Springboard, who extended his career bankroll to $271,381, and owns with Patricia Wollam.

Greg Grismore drove four winners and Dave Palone three on the 15-race card.
