The post position draw for next weekend's $205,000 Milton Stakes was conducted during the Saturday, Sept. 7 card of harness racing at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Twin B Joe Fresh, the top ranked Standardbred in the Hambletonian/Breeders Crown poll for eight weeks, leads a talented group of six pacing mares entered for the Milton on Saturday, Sept. 14 at Mohawk. The Chris Ryder trainee will start from post one with co-owner Dexter Dunn in the bike as she goes for her eighth straight stakes win.
Her competition includes the Shawn Steacy-trained Sylvia Hanover, Canada's reigning Horse of the Year on the verge of the $2 million mark, along with the millionaire Nick Gallucci stablemates, Silver Label and Prohibition Legal. The field also features Tells On A Roll, the Indiana Sires Stakes graduate and a top local distaffer with 10 wins in the Mohawk Mares Preferred this season for trainer Jodie Cullen, and stakes winner Always B Naughty from the Nancy Takter stable.
Eliminations were not required with just six pacing mares entered for this year's Milton.
