Launching off a helmet in the final turn, Mrs Suhwiggins strode to a 1:55.4 victory to take the $9,000 featured pace at Century Downs on Tuesday (Sept. 8).
Lady Neigh Neigh cleared command from Rockin Mystery by a :27.4 opening quarter with Mrs Suhwiggins positioned third. Stash The Cookies rushed out of fourth to challenge the pacesetter heading to a :56.3 half but remained parked as the field passed three-quarters in 1:26. Driver Kelly Hoerdt angled Mrs Suhwiggins out of fourth moving into the far turn and quickly sprung three wide as Stash The Cookies tired. Lady Neigh Neigh continued to lead into the stretch but shortened stride as Mrs Suhwiggins slid down the center of the course to a one-and-a-quarter length victory. Chase The Ace finished third.
A four-year-old mare by Custard The Dragon, Mrs Suhwiggins won her fourth race from 15 starts this season and her 13th from 39 overall, earning $242,414. Michael Campbell conditions the $4.40 winner for owner J J J Stables.
