The six-pack of races offered on Saturday afternoon at Exhibition Park had a recurring theme: wins by driver Todd Trites and trainer Dawn Ellis Abbott.
Trites and Ellis Abbott teamed for three wins, including the card's feature -- the $1,350 Winners Over Pace -- with favoured Goliath Reigns. The 10-year-old Goliath Bayama-Tiger Reigns gelding was a gate-to-wire winner in 1:58.4. Ellis Abbott owns Goliath Reigns, now a 20-time winner over his seven years on the racetrack, with the win lifting the pacer's earnings to $96,541.
Earlier on the card, the Trites-Ellis Abbott tandem were victorious with Charlie Drummond (Race 2, 2:00.3, $5.10) and Desir Dorleans (Race 3, 2:04.2, $10.00) with Trites adding a fourth driving score aboard Love In Paradise (Race 1, 2:03, $2.10).
